Honestly, I think people only care about themselves. In The most dangerous game, Rainsford had to worry if he survived, not anyone else. Even in The cask of Amontillado the main character did not care at all about the drunken fool he was with, he just let him die basicly. So hopefully as, you can see in these particular stories, both characteres from my perspective only cared about themselves.
On the contrary, in my personaly life, like I stated before I think we only care about ourselves. Through expiriences I've seen and been through many people are very selfish and they only care about themselves. I think in our day and age, most of humanity has lost all good in ourselves. But really thats the only way to survive if you think about it, because really if you don't care about yourself, then who will?
