Question Number One Response

The writing process can be an extraneously long and stressful journey for me, it tends to take quite a bit of time for me to accomplish any writing assignment. I spend such a grand amount of time on pre-writing or "brainstorming" in my attempts to accomplish the task at hand. Trying to think of what thoughts i want to write when my pencil hits paper is such a struggle. It takes me around one third of my time that I spend creating the whole essay just to collect ideas in my head to transfer on my paper. Its just a bump in the middle of the road that i just cant seem to avoid. I really would like to strengthen this soft area in my writing skills. I believe that this weak point in my writing is connected to the fact that i do not particularly enjoy or care for that matter to pick up a book and read, unless it is completely necessary. I believe that this has put a damper on my mind in the creative thinking department. I am a pretty creative person, but not like that. My mind hasn't been exposed to a lot of creative writing, so its not like i can refer to a lot of other pieces of literature to aid me. I assume that if my brain was exposed to such things my "soft area" in my writing process will seize to exist & it will rank up to the podium that the rest of my writing process abilities stand on. So if I could just perhaps find books, poems, or other sources of literature that would appeal to me and just read for entertainment the concept of all my writing abilities ranking as one will be achieved.

I agree. Pret-writing is hard for me too. It takes forever and can make you frustrated.
